Another Youth Ministry Blog

Up until June I was the contemporary worship leader and director of communications at my church. I was comfortable, I enjoyed what I did and I was happy. However, our church found itself looking for a new youth director. A few people asked me if I would be interested. I declined, saying that I was happy and content where I was.
And that was the truth. However, the more time went on, the more I found myself thinking about the youth. What would I do? What would I change? What do they need? All this time God was saying, "I know you're content, and happy, and so I want you to do something different."
And so in June I accepted the job of the director of student ministries at my church. I relinquished my worship leading and communications duties, and dove into youth ministry.
And I chose this as the first post in this blog, because it is a new blog. For many years I have written over at forkintheroadmusic.org, sharing thoughts on music, worship, communication and technology. I have found though that I am writing less about that and more about youth ministry.
I wanted a place to share my thoughts and ideas. I wanted a way to ask questions, and to answer questions.
So here it is: ministry2youth.blogspot.com.
